Career
Jennah Karthes was discovered in the late 1990s by Olaf Malolepski after performing as a Heintje impersonator on the Rudi Carrell Show and became known through her relationship with Schlager singer Christian Anders. Together with Anders, she recorded several songs, including the duets Der Tag, an dem die Erde stillstand (“The Day the Earth Stood Still”) and Das Mädchen vom Bahnhof Zoo (“The Girl from Bahnhof Zoo”).
In 2001, Karthes de Branicka was crowned Miss Berlin Film Festival.
From 2001 to 2003, she hosted the show Neun Live: Reiseclub on the channel 9Live. This was followed by the weekly quiz show Do it yourself, where Karthes presented DIY tips for one year. She also appeared in various television programs with Christian Anders, such as Punkt 12, and clips of her media appearances were often featured on TV Total.
After parting ways with Anders, Karthes traveled to Dubai, where she attempted to establish herself in the music industry as the first German singer performing in Arabic within three weeks. This endeavor was documented in several TV segments by Sat.1.
In June 2008, Karthes visited the TV channel Kanal Telemedial with director Eric Dean Hordes during a live broadcast to meet and research the controversial television entrepreneur Thomas Hornauer. Following this research, Hordes produced the film Der Gründer (“The Founder”), inspired by Kanal Telemedial. Karthes contributed the title song to the film’s soundtrack.
In September 2013, she participated in the show Shopping Queen in Baden-Baden. In 2015, Karthes de Branicka appeared on camera as Christel von der Post alongside Helmut Krauss in the film Goblin – Das ist echt Troll.
In July 2020, she released the song My Schoko-Kaffee together with Schlager singer Tony Marshall. Based on the song, an Arabic-English commercial song was created for the Egyptian coffee brand Mom’s Choco Cafe and directed by Hordes as a TV commercial. The commercial, broadcast in Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon, featured Karthes, Marshall, and actor George Liratsis.
In 2022, Karthes collaborated with artists including actor Wolfgang Bahro and singers Chris Andrews and Cindy Berger to produce the song Nur ein kleiner Funke Hoffnung (“Just a Small Spark of Hope”) for the German Stroke Foundation.
Between 2020 and 2022, she ran the YouTube channel Quasselschnitte, featuring videos on gossip, mystery, trash TV, and Star Trek. Since 2023, she has lived in Dubai, where she manages an Arabic TikTok channel as an influencer. (Click on the image!)
